  • ELPA21 Summative Test Window Closing on March 17

The Nebraska ELPA21 summative test window will close on Friday, March 17 at 11 p.m. Central Time. Please make sure that all students who are required to take the ELPA21 summative test complete the test by that date. Paper test materials—including kindergarten and grade 1 paper writing supplements, paper and large print tests, and Braille test booklets—must be returned at the end of the test window. Instructions for returning paper test materials were included with the shipment of the materials. These instructions are also posted in the Resources section of the Nebraska portal. • Entering “Reason Not Tested” Codes in TIDE

The “Data Cleanup” window in TIDE is now open for the entry of “Reason Not Tested” codes. All students listed in Nebraska TIDE must be assigned a “Reason Not Tested” code for each ELPA21 summative test that they did not take. The screener pilot test is listed in this window but “Reason Not Tested” codes do not need to be assigned for the screener pilot test. The Nebraska TIDE User Guide has been updated with information about how to assign these codes. All “Reason Not Tested” codes must be assigned by March 31, 2017. If you have any questions, please contact the ELPA21 Help Desk.

  • Data Entry Interface Now Open for ELPA21

The Data Entry Interface (DEI) is now open for Test Administrators to enter students’ responses to the ELPA21 paper and large print tests as directed in the Directions for Administration (DFA). A DEI User Guide is posted in the Resources section of the portal. A Training Module describing how to access and use the DEI is also posted in the Resources section of the portal. Test Administrators should enter students’ responses to the Listening, Reading, and Writing domain tests in the DEI after students complete the tests. Students’ responses to the questions in the Speaking domain test must be recorded directly into the DEI. Therefore, for the Speaking test, the Test Administrator will need to have the DEI open when the student takes the test. Students who take the paper or large print test must be coded “Yes” for “Paper Tester” in TIDE before their responses can be entered in the DEI.

The Braille DEI will open on Thursday, March 2. Students who take the Braille test must have an Accommodation Code of “101-Braille Test Booklet” in TIDE before their responses can be entered in the DEI.

  • Submitting ELPA21 Tests

If you have any concerns regarding an ELPA21 test or a speaking response recording, please have the student PAUSE the test. Contact the Help Desk for assistance resolving the issue.  Do not submit the test until the issue is resolved. If students are recording speaking responses but there is no sound during the playback of the recordings, please verify that the mute button on the headset has not been accidently engaged.
